Islamic law in South Asia:
the Fatawa Alamgiriyya project

Welcome

Welcome to the Fatawa Alamgiriyya website and database.

The project aims to produce the first English translation of a major work of Islamic law, produced in India in the seventeenth century. The database on this website will offer free online access to the translation, together with additional information and analysis gathered by this project.

The project is still in its data collection stage and we'll have more to share soon.
